I've been using StumbleUpon for a while now and find it a great way to focus and wander at the same time.
You can choose the subject areas that most interest you. Then, using the toolbar you install in your browser, you can click through to 'stumble' on sites other users have found, within the subject areas you've specified. Nice stuff.
